Joan Stoeckle

Design Director at Artefact

Joan Stoeckle has had a varied career in design and architecture. Joan began their career in 2007 as an Intern Architect at Elkus Manfredi Architects. Joan then moved to Gensler in 2008, where they held the same role. In 2009, they worked as an Intern Architect at OmCulture and a Graphic Designer & Marketing Manager at the same time. From 2012 to 2016, they worked as Communication Design Manager at AIA Seattle + Design in Public. During this time, they also held the role of UX Designer (Contract) at Smartsheet. In 2016, they joined Artefact, where they have held the roles of Designer, Associate Design Director, and Design Director. In their current role, they guide multi-disciplinary teams to deliver meaningful insights, next-generation solutions, and inspiring product visions. Her recent experience includes research, strategy, and design for healthcare, finance, and community resilience with clients including AWS, Seattle Children's Hospital, Target, and Eli Lilly.

Joan Stoeckle obtained their Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati in 2009. In 2016, they completed a User Experience Design Certificate from General Assembly.
