Jordan Kantor

Contributing Writer at Artforum International Magazine

Jordan Kantor is an accomplished artist and academic with extensive experience in the field of art, currently serving as a Professor at California College of the Arts while on professional leave from 2022 to 2024. Kantor has held several leadership roles, including Chair of both the Graduate Fine Arts Program and the Painting and Drawing Program, and has been an Associate Professor since 1995. As a co-founder and Editor-at-Large of no place press, an independent book publishing company, Kantor contributes to the cultural discourse through publications distributed by The MIT Press. Additionally, Kantor has been a contributing writer for Artforum International Magazine since 2001 and served as Director and Artistic Director for Art Blocks Inc. until August 2024. Previous positions include contributing editor for BOMB Magazine and assistant curator at The Museum of Modern Art. Kantor's academic credentials include an AM and PhD in the History of Art and Architecture from Harvard University, an AB in History and Art from Stanford University, and study at Universität der Künste Berlin.
