Kenneth Yong has a deep and extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. Kenneth started their career in 1994 as an Assistant Banquet Sales Manager at Hilton Hong Kong. Kenneth then worked at Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong, where they served as an Assistant Catering Manager, Catering Manager, and later as an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager, responsible for operations, profit, manpower planning, F&B promotions and marketing, training, menu planning, and recruitment. Kenneth played a crucial role in improving total F&B revenue and banquet revenue during their tenure at Holiday Inn Golden Mile.
Kenneth continued to excel in their career and joined The Salisbury as a Food and Beverage Manager. Kenneth was responsible for revamping the entire F&B operations, repositioning the restaurants and banquet facilities, and implementing marketing promotions and staff training.
Kenneth later joined The Hong Kong Jockey Club, where they held various positions such as Food and Beverage Manager at Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses, Manager of Racecourse Catering Operations, Clubhouse Manager at Beas River Country Club, and ultimately becoming the General Manager at The Salisbury. Kenneth'sresponsibilities included overseeing F&B operations, promoting private boxes/restaurants as banqueting facilities, and leading strategic plan initiatives to support the company's vision.
Currently, Kenneth Yong will be joining ASM Global as the Head of Food & Beverage Operations at Kai Tak Sports Park. This HK$30 billion project is expected to be one of the largest sports and entertainment destinations in the world, located on the site of the old Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak.
Kenneth Yong has a diverse education history. Kenneth attended Beatty Secondary School in Singapore from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained their Cambridge "O" Levels. Following that, they attended Yishun Junior College in Singapore from 1987 to 1988 and obtained their Cambridge "A" Levels. After completing their pre-university education, Kenneth enrolled in Hotel Institute Montreux from 1989 to 1992, where they earned a H.I.M Swiss and AHMA Diploma in Hotel Management. Continuing their education, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management at Northern Arizona University from 1993 to 1994. Later, in 2009, Kenneth participated in the Summer Executive Programme at EHL, although the specific field of study is not mentioned.
