George Totev

George Totev is the Head of Risk and Compliance at Atlassian. George was previously the Sr. Business Leader, Global Information Security at Visa from August 2011 to October 2013. In their role at Visa, they were responsible for establishing and managing the Governance, Risk and Compliance team to identify, analyze and manage information and technology risks within the enterprise. George also developed and implemented processes and methodologies for Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance and integrated them within the rest of the company. George has a focus on implementation of an integrated framework for identifying and assessing risks within the environment, business risk analyses to support operational and strategic enterprise level decisions, trusted advisory to various business functions on Information Security related matters, integration of information and technology risk management with Enterprise Risk Management, maturing information risk governance structures and integration with Enterprise Governance, management of information security policies and standards, implementation of a vendor risk management program, analysis and management of information and technology risks in joint ventures and potential acquisitions, optimization of information security controls, assurance, industry and regulatory compliance (PCI, FFIEC, SOX, GLBA, etc.), and metrics, including KRIs. George also leads cross-departmental efforts and programs aimed at reducing risks and increasing operational efficiency.

George Totev has completed a Masters in Business Administration from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Tehnièeski universitet Sofija.

Their manager is Erika Fisher, General Counsel & Chief Administrative Officer. They are on a team with Blaine Ames - Head of People Research & Analytics, Mooni Patel - Chief of Staff, and Jess Cummings - Head of Talent Acquisition, Americas.
