Abhichart Krissanaprasit

Associate Director of R&D at Atom Bioworks

Abhichart Krissanaprasit has worked in a variety of roles in the field of biotechnology since 2012. In 2012, they were a Visiting PhD Student at Aarhus University, where they worked on constructing an autonomous DNA walker on DNA origami. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aarhus University, where they organized conductive polymer-DNA conjugates on DNA origami for nanoelectronic and nanophotonic applications. In 2014, they also worked as a Research Assistant at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, where they created a novel multiplexed DNA sensing platform. From 2017 to 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at North Carolina State University, where they employed dCas9-affinity-peptide complex for the organization of inorganic nanomaterials on DNA origami for nanoelectronic applications. Since 2020, they have been a Co-founder and Research Scientist at Helixomer, where they have been designing and creating functional nucleic acid nanostructures for human health applications. In 2022, they began working as a Scientific Consultant at Atom Bioworks, where they are rational designing DNA Star material to enable biosensing and targeted drug delivery.

Abhichart Krissanaprasit obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology (Biosensor and DNA Nanotechnology) from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi between 2007 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang between 2003 and 2007.
