Scott P. Weston began their work experience as a Principal and Senior Geomorphologist at Madrone Environmental Services Ltd in 1995. Scott P. focused on geoscience and biology assessments for the resource and land development industries. In 2008, they joined Hemmera as a Project Director and later became a Sector Leader, Mining in 2009. In these roles, they led multidiscipline environmental projects and provided technical leadership in natural hazard, surficial geology, and geomorphology. In 2013, Scott P. Weston joined Ausenco as the Vice President of Business Development and Strategy. Scott P. collaborated with senior leaders and business unit heads, analyzed operational and financial data, and cultivated client relationships, securing multiyear partnerships and contracts across Canada. Scott P. also established strategic partnerships with bands in Western and Northern Canada.

Scott P. Weston has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Geography and Geology from The University of British Columbia, which they obtained from 1990 to 1995. Scott P. further pursued a Master of Science degree in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University, completing it from 2001 to 2003. In terms of professional development, they attended various short-term programs at UBC Sauder School of Business between 2019 and 2020, focusing on negotiation and communication skills for executive leadership. In 2022, they completed a program in Reconciliation Education at First Nations University of Canada. In 2023, they attended a program on transforming organizations with AI at the BC Chamber of Commerce.
