Brian Zaugg

Brian Zaugg has held a variety of roles in the IT and security space since 2004. From 2004 to 2006, they were the Principal Consultant and Owner of itbrian, and the Director of IT Operations at mysmartgolf.com. In 2010, they joined AppliedMicro as the Senior Director IT Security, Infrastructure, & Engineering Services, and later was promoted to Director IT Infrastructure & Engineering Services. In 2012, they became a Consulting Expert for the Santa Clara County Office of the Public Defender, Alternate Defender Office. From 2013 to 2014, they were a member of the Editorial Advisory Board at Connected World Magazine. In 2014, they became Head of Security at Authentic8, and in 2015 they joined vArmour as a member of the CIO/CISO Advisory Board.

Brian Zaugg obtained a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of California, Davis in 1997. Brian then went on to complete a Master of Science in Physics from San Jose State University in 2005. In 2004, they obtained an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix, which they completed in 2006. Finally, they earned a Master's degree in Information Technology - Information Security from Capella University in 2015. In addition, they were appointed to the GIAC Advisory Board in 2008.
