Overview:
Aviceda Glycotech located in Belfast, Ireland, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aviceda Therapeutics, is seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, driven, and visionary scientific Consultant to join our team as Sr. Director/VP, Biology and Translational Research. The person will serve as a critical part R&D Leadership Team, working towards building a discovery oncology and immunology pipelines to develop best-in-class medicines and new modalities. The person will work with biology and translational research team(s) through state-of-the-art scientific innovation, strategy, and operations to continuously develop and expand the technology platform leading to new clinical candidates.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Lead consultant to a discovery biology & translational team - responsible for the oncology/immunology target identification, discovery, and pre-clinical development leading to new clinical candidates.
Direct the creation of enabling various in vitro assays and help with in vivo models and pharmacology experiments in support of program objectives
Provide creative and innovative leadership of discovery biology enabling biological hypotheses into transformative medicines.
Ensure effective interaction and communication between Biology and Chemistry teams, in alignment with the leadership team.
Communicating discovery strategy and progress to executive management, scientific board of directors, and external partners.
Expand the company's external network of advisors and establish deep domain area expertise in program areas such as immunology/inflammation, and oncology.
Keep up to date with the latest scientific advances, technologies, and trends in oncology, immunology research, and development to deliver the next generation of therapies.
Advancement of research programs to support corporate growth goals.
Cross-functional collaboration with Regulatory to author strategy for first in human studies.
Develop key internal and external stakeholder collaborations.
Work with teams responsible for designing and executing early clinical programs.
Contributions in cross-functional setting Identify therapeutic targets, disease mapping and pipeline strategy
Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal functional groups (e.g. Discovery, Clinical, CDTs), external academic research groups and CRO’s to facilitate the implementation of research strategies in Clinical trials.
Assimilate advancement of early studies into the assessment of risk and investment in programs.
Regular interactions with senior leaders to align development goals with functional and corporate initiatives
