Katie Skiba-Mathews

Katie Skiba-Mathews has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Katie currently holds the position of Head of Engineering at Avise Inc since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Full Stack Engineering Manager at Avise Inc from January 2021 to March 2023. Before joining Avise Inc, Katie worked as a Full Stack Developer at 1904labs from April 2018 to January 2021. Katie also gained experience as a Developer at happyMedium from November 2016 to March 2018 and as a Full-Stack Web Developer at MediaCross from June 2015 to November 2016.

Katie Skiba-Mathews demonstrated their commitment to education by serving as a Volunteer Algebra 2 and Trigonometry Teacher at Martin University at Indiana Women's Prison from October 2013 to April 2015. Katie also worked as an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at DePauw University from August 2013 to April 2015.

At the beginning of their career, Katie Skiba-Mathews worked as a Software Engineer at Boeing, Training Systems and Services from July 2011 to August 2013. In this role, they developed and maintained flight simulators used for pilot training, designed and implemented software to replicate aircraft functionality, and managed projects throughout the software life-cycle.

Additionally, they gained experience as a Work Study employee and as a member of the Balloon Assisted Stratospheric Experiments (BASE) team at DePauw University from August 2007 to May 2009. Katie also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from May 2010 to July 2010.

Earlier in their career, Katie Skiba-Mathews served as an InvenTeam member at Nerinx Hall High School from August 2005 to May 2007.

Katie Skiba-Mathews obtained a Master's Degree in Learning Design and Leadership - Technology Specialist from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Computer Science at DePauw University from 2007 to 2011. Katie'seducation journey began at Nerinx Hall High School, where they completed their high school education from 2003 to 2007.
