Jean Laurin

Principal, President & Managing Director, Quebec at AVISON YOUNG (USA) INC

Jean Laurin is a renowned Businessman and strategist. Since the 1980s, he has led a team of highly specialized professionals and assisted a multitude of national and international organizations in strategic planning and in the execution of complex real estate transactions in Canada and abroad.

Jean joined Devencore in 1973. His responsibilities subsequently evolved from Project Manager to Vice President and finally President of the company in 1984, responsible for all its offices across Canada. He became Chief Executive Officer in 2002. As of April 1, 2021, Devencore became Avison Young. Jean is now a Partner and President of Avison Young Québec.

Jean is very involved in his community: he is Chairman of the Board of Montréal International and a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Blue Cross. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Fondation de l'UQAM and is also a member of the Cercle des présidents du Québec.

Until recently, he was Chairman of the Board of the Société de la Place des Arts and served in that role for over 12 years. He is also a former Chairman of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montréal and of the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Foundation.
