Andrew Chandler

Andrew Chandler has over 30 years of work experience in the insurance and banking industries. Andrew is currently the Group Chief Reserving Officer at Sompo International, where they have been since 2019. Prior to that, they held various roles at AXIS Capital, including EVP, Group Chief Reserving Actuary and EVP, Reinsurance Chief Reserving Actuary. Before joining AXIS Capital, Chandler worked at Oliver Wyman as a Principal, providing reserve analyses and risk retention studies for insurance companies. Andrew also had experience at TransRe as a Senior Pricing Actuary and Underwriter, and later as the Chief Actuary for the London Market operations. Chandler began their career at CGU Insurance as the London Market Research Unit Manager and later worked at HSBC Global Banking and Markets as an Actuary and Market Risk Manager. Andrew started their career at Price Waterhouse Coopers as a Senior Consultant.

Andrew Chandler obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Mathematics from The University of Manchester from 1986 to 1988. Andrew subsequently pursued a Master's degree in Numerical Analysis and Computing from The University of Manchester from 1988 to 1989. Additionally, Andrew Chandler holds certifications as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (US), which they obtained in 1995.
