Tax Associate

Are you a steady, accurate, analytical accounting professional who enjoys serving clients? As a Tax Associate at Axley & Rode, you will impact our clients' by helping them meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business.

The Opportunity:

The tax associate is responsible for reviewing each client's tax information and preparing the tax forms to accurately reflect income, expenditures, and other pertinent information in accordance with IRS regulations. The tax associate will interact with clients, obtain and review tax information, prepare tax returns, and perform research projects.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete work papers.

  • Prepare Individual, Partnership, Corporation, and Non-Profit tax returns.

  • Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.

  • Learn how to work as part of a team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the firm and our clients.

  • Take on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations.

  • Work face to face to conduct interviews and process walkthroughs supporting the audit

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field.

  • Qualification and intent to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation

  • Have exceptional research, planning, problem-solving, critical thinking, and math skills.

  • Be proficient with computers, and have experience with bookkeeping or financial software, tax preparation software, and MS Office.

  • Have high efficiency, accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

  • Have good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Be able to prioritize and manage time efficiently.

  • Strong client service focus. Responsive to needs of colleagues and clients.
