Vice President / Division Head, Digital Channels Group - Enterprise Technology at Bank of the Philippine Islands

Poi Hierro has over two decades of work experience in various technology roles. Starting in 1999 as a Graphic Designer, they then worked as a Web Solutions Chief at IBM, Head of Web Solutions Division at MOZCOM, and Web Developer at BIKO Technologies. In 2010, they became a Front End Developer at UbiQ Global Solutions before joining LateRooms.com as a Front End Web Developer. Poi then moved on to Expedia Group, where they held positions such as Senior Front End Software Engineer, Software Development Engineer II, Software Development Lead, and Engineering Manager. In 2018, Poi became the Director and Group Head of Information Technology at Entrego before transitioning to Smart Communications, Inc. as an Assistant Vice President and Center Head of IT Digital Delivery. Currently, Poi serves as Vice President of the Digital Channels Group for Enterprise Technology at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI). Throughout their career, Poi has demonstrated strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and success in managing teams and implementing technology strategies.

Poi Hierro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Management from the University of St. La Salle, which they obtained from 2002 to 2007. Prior to that, they also completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the same university, from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, in 1998, they briefly studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at the Technological University of the Philippines. Throughout their career, Poi Hierro has obtained various certifications, including training in application security and secure coding, enterprise architecture foundations, and data protection officer ACE level 1. Poi has also completed courses on strategic planning, creativity in business, and sustainability transformation essentials, among others.
