Tim Brooks

Tim Brooks has extensive experience in various leadership roles in the financial industry. Tim is currently the Managing Director, Head of Business Strategy, and Portfolio Finance at Barings. Prior to this, they worked at MassMutual as the Head of Business Operations for Direct Private Investments and as a Program Lead for the same department. Before joining MassMutual, Tim held the position of Managing Director at State Street, where they specialized in private equity products. Tim also worked as a Relationship Manager at International Fund Services. Tim's early career includes roles such as Team Lead at State Street, Director of Client Management at Investors Bank & Trust, Deputy Treasurer/Assistant Treasurer at MA State Treasury, and Chairman/Executive Secretary at State of Indiana Board of Tax Commissioners. Tim holds a Chancellor Scholar position at Alexander von Humboldt Foundation as an Independent Public Policy Researcher.

Tim Brooks obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Business Law from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law from 1988 to 1991. Tim later pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics from Indiana University Indianapolis, with studies spanning from 1995 to 2003. Prior to that, Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in History & Asian Studies from Dartmouth College, completing their studies from 1984 to 1988.
