R.j. Scott

Director, Project Management Office at Idaho National Laboratory

R.J. Scott, MBA, PMP has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Starting in 1983, they served in the United States Air Force as Superintendent of Manpower and Organization, overseeing industrial engineering functions and logistics management. R.J. also coached and directed wrestling programs at all levels of the sport during their time in the Air Force. In 2003, they transitioned to a role as a Senior Management Analyst at the US Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, conducting organizational and manpower studies. From 2005 to 2022, they held various managerial positions at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (FMP), including Manager of Corporate Services-Materials and Information Management, Manager of Infrastructure Program Management Office (PMO), Manager of Facilities and Infrastructure Construction, Manager of Emergency Planning, Manager of Quality Assurance Operations, and Cost Control Supervisor/Project Management Training Lead. Currently, since 2022, they serve as the Director of the Project Management Office at the Idaho National Laboratory. In addition to their professional roles, they have also been involved in coaching and directing wrestling programs as the President of the Idaho Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and the Idaho National Team Director/Coach for USA Wrestling. Overall, R.J. Scott brings extensive experience in project management, leadership, and sports coaching to their current role.

R.J. Scott, MBA, PMP has a diverse educational background. R.J. obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Project Management from Aspen University, completing their studies from 2009 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, studying from 1989 to 1998. Additionally, R.J. Scott holds two Associate's Degrees; one in Electronics Systems Technology and the other in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, both from the Community College of the Air Force, where they studied from 1983 to 1997.

In terms of certifications, R.J. Scott has a wide range of expertise. R.J. obtained their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2007. R.J. also holds certifications such as Facilities Management Certification from BOMI International, LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt from Bechtel Marine Propulsion Corporation, a Master's Certificate in Project Management from Regis University College for Professional Studies, SCRUM Master from Scrum Alliance, and a Bronze Level Coaching Certification from USA Wrestling, among others.
