Eric Maxwell

Eric Maxwell has a diverse work experience in the analytical development and quality control field. Eric is currently working as a Senior Manager at Bavarian Nordic since July 2021, leading a team responsible for the design and implementation of analytical test methods for vaccine drug substances and products. Eric is also serving as a product development and CMC team lead for Universal Influenza and Chikungunya vaccine projects.

Prior to this, Eric worked at Abbott Diagnostics Business from 2014 to 2021, where they held the position of Manager of Analytical Development and Quality Control. In this role, they led a department and developed analytical methods for biologics used in immunoassay platforms for toxicology and infectious disease diagnosis. Eric also had extensive interaction with internal and external customers to ensure product development aligned with their needs. Before this position, they worked as a Senior Scientist/Manager of Process Development at Abbott, where they played a key role in developing antibody and protein conjugate manufacturing processes for various health conditions.

Earlier in their career, Eric worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at San Diego State University from 2012 to 2015. Eric also served as a Production Chemist IV at Alere San Diego, Inc. from 2008 to 2014 and as a Research Associate at the University of California, San Diego from 2007 to 2008.

Overall, Eric has demonstrated expertise in analytical development, quality control, and product development in the field of biologics and vaccines.

Eric Maxwell has a strong academic background in the field of Chemistry. Eric obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from UC San Diego, which they attended from 2002 to 2008. Subsequently, they pursued further education and completed their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry from San Diego State University, where they studied from 2012 to 2015.
