Irene Tunkel

Irene Tunkel, CFA, is a highly experienced investment professional with expertise in multi-asset portfolio management, quantitative modeling, and macroeconomic analysis. Irene is currently serving as the Chief US Equity Strategist at BCA Research since May 2021. Prior to this, Irene worked at PGIM QMA, Prudential Financial as a Senior Researcher and Multi-Asset Portfolio Manager, where they managed a suite of multi-asset portfolios with $80 billion in assets under management (AUM). Irene conceptualized and executed a systematic investment process from scratch and conducted macroeconomic research.

Before joining PGIM QMA, Irene held the position of Multi-Asset Quantitative Strategist and Executive Director, CIO Office at JP Morgan Private Bank. In this role, they led a team responsible for ad hoc thematic research, idea generation, and the development of systematic models supporting a suite of multi-asset portfolios with $300 billion in AUM.

Irene previously worked at State Street Associates as the Senior Researcher and Head of Equity, where they led a team in the design of global asset allocation and regime timing models. Additionally, they were responsible for spearheading new research initiatives and marketing the firm's results internationally.

Irene began their career at Prudential M&G Investment Management as a Senior Portfolio Strategist and Portfolio Manager, leading the European Equities and Multi-Asset Portfolio Strategy teams. Irene provided investment strategy formulation, portfolio analytics oversight, and quantitative support for a range of strategies with approximately £15 billion AUM.

Prior to that, Irene worked at Citigroup Asset Management as a Quantitative Analyst in the Quantitative Research Group. Irene was responsible for managing a systematic European Equity platform and played a key role in researching, developing, and implementing a quantitative investment process for European funds.
