Kyla Henriksen has an extensive work experience in the legal field. Kyla is currently serving as the Vice President, Legal Affairs & Deputy General Counsel (Capital Markets) at BCI since 2023. Prior to that, Kyla worked at Wells Fargo as a Senior Counsel from 2020 to 2023. Kyla also worked at Citi as an Associate General Counsel from 2011 to 2020, where they specialized in equity prime brokerage and broker-dealer regulation. Before that, they served as an Assistant General Counsel at Bank of America from 2009 to 2011, focusing on equity prime brokerage and regulatory matters. Kyla also worked at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP as an Associate, providing legal support on hedge funds and regulatory issues. Kyla began their career as a Counsel at Justice Canada, working on financial services regulation and insolvency matters. Kyla also gained experience as an Associate at Sidley Austin and Fasken Martineau DuMoulin, where they focused on complex commercial disputes, bankruptcy issues, and cross-border transactions.
Kyla Henriksen pursued their education from 1991 to 1994 at Concordia University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree in History. In 1994, they continued their education at the University of Toronto, where they completed a Master of Arts degree in History in 1995. Kyla then attended The University of British Columbia from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree. Lastly, in 2003, they enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center, where they completed a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Law in 2004.
