Sanjeewa Alwis

Sanjeewa Alwis has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Sanjeewa is currently the Chief Executive Officer at BCS Technology International Pty Ltd, a position they assumed in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Visiting Lecturer at SLIIT from May 2019 to December 2022.

Sanjeewa also has extensive experience at Pearson, where they held multiple roles. From April 2017 to December 2022, they served as a Director, responsible for managing a high-performing management team and overseeing various aspects of IT operations. From March 2016 to February 2018, they worked as a Senior Manager in Global DevOps/Site Reliability Engineering & Operations. During this time, they successfully led cost optimization projects and achieved cost efficiency goals. Sanjeewa also held the position of Manager Asia Pacific - DevOps/Application Engineering from July 2013 to March 2016.

Before joining Pearson, Sanjeewa worked at Dialog Axiata PLC as a Senior Executive System Engineer from September 2008 to September 2011. Prior to that, they worked as a Network Engineer at Mtech from October 2005 to September 2008, and as a Software Engineer at Mtech from 2003 to 2005.

Sanjeewa Alwis completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) (Hons) degree in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology. Sanjeewa attended this institute from 2005 to 2008.

Prior to this, they attended D.S. Senanayake College in Colombo from 1993 to 2003 and obtained their General Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) in that time.

Apart from their formal education, Sanjeewa Alwis has also obtained several additional certifications. In 2014, they became an AWS Certified Solution Architect from Amazon Web Services. Sanjeewa also obtained the ITIL 2011 certification in 2013 from Sanjeewa'sMajesty's Government. Furthermore, they hold a Certificate in Business Accounting obtained from CIMA in 2003.
