Ged Silva

Principal VP, GM, Infrastructure, Asia Pacific at Bechtel

Ged Silva is the general manager for the Asia Pacific region for Bechtel’s Infrastructure business unit. In this role, he oversees active projects and leads business strategy for the aviation, rail, civil, power, and telecommunications sectors in the region.

During his 30-year Bechtel career, Ged has held leadership roles throughout its functions, projects, and organization—including in three of Bechtel’s four global business units.

Ged relocated from the U.K. to Australia in 1995 to join the Mining & Metals (M&M) business in Brisbane, working on several aluminum smelter projects in engineering, construction, and start-up roles and in-plant services. Later he joined the Oil, Gas & Chemicals business unit to lead the engineering on the Alba Line 5 Aluminum Smelter in Bahrain, the Sohar Aluminum Smelter in Oman, the Alumina Project in Guinea, and the Worsley Alumina Project in Western Australia.
