Yihan Wang's work experience includes various roles in the fields of climate finance, business development, portfolio management, energy consulting, economic development, environmental analysis, and research. They have worked with organizations such as the Climate Policy Initiative, UVI Research and Technology Park, The Nature Conservancy, PA Consulting, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, ForestAction Nepal, WWF, University of Michigan, and Clean Water Action. In their roles, Yihan has demonstrated skills in project management, financial modeling, data analysis, policy research, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.

Yihan Wang received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Affairs from Beijing Language and Culture University in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, they studied at George Mason University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Affairs. During their time at George Mason University, they also participated in a study abroad program at Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg, where they studied Global Affairs/International Relations. Yihan then pursued a Master of Science degree in Environmental Policy & Planning at the University of Michigan from 2015 to 2017.
