Aaron Brown

Manager, Scientific Advisory Services at Bioinformatics

Aaron Brown has extensive experience in scientific research and education. From 2018 to present, they have been working as Manager of Scientific Advisory Services at BioInformatics Inc. From 2014 to 2018, they were a Research Assistant II at Baylor College of Medicine, where they designed and performed hypothesis-driven experiments with potential for treating hospital acquired C. difficile infection using probiotics. Aaron also collaborated with researchers from other laboratories within the Texas Medical Center on projects that resulted in two publications in peer-reviewed journals. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as a Marketing Analyst Consultant at Runnerfox, where they performed market analysis as a contract consultant and composed a white paper to help the company develop its vision and strategy. From 2006 to 2014, they were the Graduate Advisor for the Clemson iGEM Team at Clemson University, where they coordinated with two faculty instructors and 10-20 undergraduate students in a team environment for an international synthetic biology competition. Aaron also designed and organized all lab experiments and activities, developed protocols, and trained undergraduate students in synthetic biology and related techniques. Additionally, from 2006 to 2014, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Clemson University, where they taught undergraduate laboratories and prepared lab materials, instructed undergraduate students in procedures and theory, prepared exams, graded exams and lab reports, tested preliminary experimental design, and provided feedback for course improvement to supervising professor. Aaron was also awarded the Clemson University Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award and the Graduate Student Teaching Award of Merit from the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA).

Aaron Brown received their Bachelor's degree in Pre-Medicine from Bob Jones University between 1999 and 2003. Aaron then went on to earn their Master's degree in Microbiology from Clemson University between 2006 and 2008. Aaron completed their education with a Master of Business Administration - MBA from Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business.
