Naifan Zhuang

Naifan Zhuang has extensive experience in the field of research and development, with a focus on algorithm development and software engineering.

They currently hold the position of Senior Research Scientist at Black Sesame Technologies Inc, where they began working in December 2022.

Prior to this, Naifan worked as an Algorithm Scientist at Aibee Inc. from May 2020 to November 2022.

Naifan also gained valuable experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Crystal Photonics Inc. They were responsible for researching and implementing image reconstruction algorithms for high-accuracy PET scan machines. They successfully delivered a tested and documented image reconstruction software package in C++ during their tenure, from May 2019 to May 2020.

Before their industry experience, Naifan was a PhD candidate and a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Central Florida. They worked on their PhD from April 2018 to May 2020, and additionally served as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2014 to May 2020.

Naifan also had a previous internship at Crystal Photonics Inc. as a Software Engineer Intern, where they were involved in researching and implementing iterative Timing Calibration algorithms for PET scanners. They successfully developed and documented a C++ software package for Timing Calibration algorithms from May 2017 to August 2017.

Naifan Zhuang pursued a Bachelor's degree in Automatic Control from Northwestern Polytechnical University, which they completed from 2008 to 2012. Naifan then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2012 to 2014. Finally, Zhuang attended the University of Central Florida from 2014 to 2020, earning a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science.
