Derek Lam

Derek Lam is a Senior Software Engineer currently working at Atelio by FIS since September 2023. Previously, Derek held a similar role at Tempo Automation from June 2021 to July 2023, focusing on the end-to-end development of an event-driven data ingestion system for inventory management. Prior to that, Derek worked at SpaceX as an Avionics Test Engineer, where responsibilities included developing hardware and software for avionics test systems. Early career experience includes roles as a Graduate Instructional Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of California, San Diego, as well as internships at Tesla, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Applied Medical. Derek holds a Master of Science in Machine Learning and Data Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, both from UC San Diego.
