Ben Murphy

VP, Sustainability at Boom Supersonic

Ben Murphy is currently the VP of Sustainability at Boom Supersonic. Prior to their current position, Murphy worked as a Military Performance Engineer and an Aeromechanic Engineer at GE Aviation. In their role as a Military Performance Engineer, Murphy was responsible for developing a strong understanding of NPSS modeling and supersonic engine applications through ongoing support of GE legacy large military engine performance and operability efforts. Ben also carried out preliminary design studies for new applications and detailed analysis of hardware updates. In their role as an Aeromechanic Engineer, Murphy was responsible for supporting VSV S1-S5 design from PDR through CPD release and DDR. Ben also performed steady and unsteady CFD to determine fan stall, choke, and flutter boundaries at various speeds, oplines, and inlet incidence angles.

Ben Murphy's educational career consists of a Master's Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
