Gabriel Gilder

Gabriel Gilder has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. From 2003 to 2009, they worked at Code4Design as a Web Applications Programmer, managing projects and supervising teams of programmers. In 2005, they served as an Editor at Hipgnosis Productions, where they edited a feature-length documentary film. From 2003 to 2006, Gabriel worked as a Special Projects Manager at the Satyajit Ray Film and Study Collection, leading a web redesign project and producing documentary video projects.

In 2009, Gabriel founded their own web marketing firm called Gabriel Gilder Design, where they provided consulting, design, and implementation services for small businesses. During this time, they partnered with marketing agencies and worked on projects for a wide range of clients.

Starting in 2010, Gabriel joined Traction as a Web/Applications Developer, leading a team in developing the front end of a major web project for Apple and building a Rails app for the office dashboard. Gabriel also worked as a Web Development Contractor at Traction, handling various web development projects.

In 2012, Gabriel worked at John McNeil Studio as an Application Developer, developing an iPhone application and a custom Javascript/CSS3 framework.

From 2012 to 2017, Gabriel worked at Square, where they held multiple roles. As a Senior Software Engineer - Web Operations, they focused on improving stability and strategizing the migration of the company's Rails app functionality. Gabriel was also a Senior Software Engineer - Risk, working on services for handling cardholder disputes and leading efforts to improve stability and metrics. In 2016, they took on the role of Software Engineering Manager, leading their team through major initiatives and providing support for career planning and advancement.

From 2020 to 2022, Gabriel worked at Plaid as a Staff Software Engineer, working on various projects within the Core Services group and developing a strategy to untangle technical debt and unclear responsibilities within the company's core pipeline.

Most recently, Gabriel joined Boomy Corporation as a Senior Software Engineer in 2023.

Gabriel Gilder attended the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Studio Art, with a focus on Electronic Music.
