Principal Optical Engineer at BridgeComm

Mike Morrell has had a long and successful career in optics engineering. Mike began their career in 1987 as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. In 1998, they started as an Optical Engineer at Blue Road Research and then NP Photonics in 1999. In 2003, they worked as a Researcher at the University of Arizona. From 2006 to 2014, they were a Staff Optical Engineer at Beckman Coulter (formerly Dako). In 2014, they became a Principal Optics Engineer at Precision Biopsy, LLC, where they used their knowledge of fluorescence and scatter to develop an optical system. Finally, in 2019, they began their current role as Principal Optical Engineer at BridgeComm, Inc., where they focus on developing new hardware designs to improve the performance and repeatability of their system.

Mike Morrell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Optical Engineering from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 1995. Mike then went on to receive a Master of Science degree in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona in 1998. In 2017, they obtained a certification in Neural Networks and Deep Learning from Coursera.
