Daniel Nunez

Director, Computational Biology at Cabaletta Bio

Daniel Nunez has a wealth of work experience. Daniel began their career in 2003 as a Student Technical/Professional Trainee at Ford Motor Company. Daniel then moved on to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2004 as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, where they designed a novel mounting mechanism. In 2005, they were an Applied Research Intern at Guidant. In 2006, they were an Engineering Intern at Medtronic, where they used computer aided design software to redesign an implantable drug pump. Daniel then moved on to Harvard Medical School in 2009 as a Visiting Predoctoral Fellow, where they designed and performed live cell fluorescence imaging experiments and developed computational tools using Matlab. In 2013, they were an Intern at PureTech Health, where they generated and evaluated ideas for ventures in the area of type 1 diabetes and health IT. In 2015, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan, where they developed a novel microfluidic platform for single-cell RNA sequencing and applied single-cell RNA sequencing to study the transcriptional changes that regulate Drosophila brain development. Finally, in 2018, they were a Bioinformatics Scientist at Adaptimmune, and in 2020 they were an Associate Director of Computational Biology and a Principal Scientist of Bioinformatics at Cabaletta Bio.

Daniel Nunez received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Biological Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006. Daniel then went on to obtain a PhD in Bioengineering from UC San Diego in 2013.
