Matthew Walz

Matthew Walz has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Matthew currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Calibrant Energy. Prior to this role, they were the Vice President of Business Development at Invinity Energy Systems. From 2019 to 2021, Walz worked as the US SBU Chief Commercial Officer at The AES Corporation. Before that, they held various positions at REC Solar and Duke Energy Corporation, including President & CEO of REC Solar and V.P. Commercial Solar at Duke Energy Renewables. Earlier in their career, Walz worked at Duke Energy Retail, Accenture, Bourbon Street Capital, and Price Waterhouse Coopers in managerial and consulting roles.

Matthew Walz obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in Accounting and Finance, graduating cum laude from Miami University in 1991. Matthew then pursued a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Finance from Indiana University - Kelley School of Business, completing it in 2004 with a GPA of 3.9. In addition to their formal education, Matthew also earned the CFA charter from the CFA Institute in December 2007.
