Orlando Chaparro has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Orlando started their career in the United States Marine Corps in 2004, where they served as a Battalion Operations Officer & Platoon Commander. During their service, they demonstrated exceptional planning and coordination skills, receiving awards for their exemplary leadership. In 2009, Orlando transitioned to the role of Deputy Director in the Environmental Management Division, where they served as the focal point for environmental issues and ensured compliance with regulations and directives. Orlando then became the Commanding Officer of a Security Company, achieving the highest readiness performance in the battalion and improving working relationships with relevant offices. Orlando continued their military career as an Officer in Charge of a Civil Affairs Detachment, overseeing personnel and conducting operations in multiple countries. In 2014, they joined Devon Energy as a Drilling Engineer, and later in 2019, they moved to Camino Natural Resources as a Senior Drilling Engineer.

Orlando Chaparro pursued their education with a focus on engineering. Orlando attended the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following that, from 2007 to 2009, they enrolled in the Air Force Institute of Technology-Graduate School of Engineering & Management, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Environmental Engineering.
