Cécile Mathieu has extensive experience in the field of molecular and cellular biology, specifically in the study of protein condensates and their mechanisms. Cécile started their career as an Intern at CNRS in 2012, where they gained foundational knowledge in the field.
From 2013 to 2016, Cécile worked as a PhD student at Univ Paris Diderot, focusing on the study of protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. During this time, they also served as a Teaching Assistant.
In 2017, Cécile joined St Jude Children's Research Hospital - Howard Hughes Medical Institute as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Here, they conducted research on the formation and regulation of RNA-protein condensates, publishing two first-author peer-reviewed publications. Cécile also developed cellular tools and imaging workflows for the manipulation and analysis of liquid-like condensates.
In 2021, Cécile joined Faze Medicines as a Scientist II on the Condensate platform team. Cécile designed and implemented workflows to investigate the mechanisms of condensation for novel target discovery and integrated various biochemical, biophysical, and cell biology approaches to characterize small molecule mechanism of actions. Cécile also led collaborations with external partners and managed CROs, demonstrating their leadership and project management skills.
Currently, Cécile is a Senior Scientist at CAMP4 Therapeutics, starting in 2023. Further details about their role and responsibilities are not provided.
Cécile Mathieu has an extensive education history in the field of biochemistry and related subjects. Cécile obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry, Biomolecules, and Therapeutic from Université Paris Cité, which they pursued from 2013 to 2016. Prior to their doctorate, they completed a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Cells, and Therapeutic Targets - Pathological and Therapeutic Macromolecules at the same university between 2012 and 2013. In the preceding year, they earned another Master's degree in Biochemistry, Cells, and Therapeutic Targets, with minors in Drug Design and Business Economics. Their undergraduate education includes a Licence degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a focus on Business Economics, which they finished from Université Paris Cité between 2008 and 2011.
Cécile Mathieu has also obtained a certification called "From the Laboratory to Leadership" from The Leadership Edge, which they achieved in October 2022.
