Joshua Lum has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting from 2011, they worked as a Clinic Assistant at Myos Medical Clinic, helping with patient records and managing medicine stock. In 2015, they joined the Ministry of Health (Singapore) as a Product Associate / Policy Analyst, where they worked on healthcare finance and governance, specifically focusing on organizing GP clinics on Singapore's primary care subsidy scheme. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of COVID-19 Executive Officer, dealing with public health interventions and managing communicable diseases. In 2021, they joined Asia Care Group as a Consulting Analyst, working on health advisory projects for pharmaceutical clients. Later that year, they moved to DKSH as a Business Analyst, helping pharmaceutical clients ensure patient affordability and adherence to their drugs. In 2022, they joined the Ministry of Manpower as a Project Manager for a telemedicine service, addressing the healthcare needs of migrant workers. Most recently, they became a Co-founder of Sojourner Brother, a tech social entrepreneurship venture focused on addressing the debt and injustices faced by migrants through their lived experiences. Additionally, in the same year, they also started working as a Product Manager at CareHealth.

Joshua Lum completed their Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Nanyang Technological University Singapore between 2011 and 2015. In 2014, they participated in a Semester Exchange Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology, focusing on Economics and Entrepreneurship. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Advanced Business Strategy from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business in June 2021. In June 2022, they received the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
