Jeff Thomas

Vice President - Associate General Counsel, IP at Caris Life Sciences

Jeff Thomas has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jeff started their career as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin and later worked as a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Washington. Jeff then became a Staff Scientist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Jeff then transitioned to the private sector, working as a Bioinformatics Scientist at Epigenomics AG. Jeff later joined Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP as a Summer Associate, followed by a position as a Summer Associate at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati. Jeff then worked as a Judicial Extern at US Courts before returning to Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati as an Associate. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President - Associate General Counsel, IP at Caris Life Sciences.

Jeff Thomas has a diverse educational background. Jeff obtained a J.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington from 1992 to 1998. During their time at the same university, they also earned an M.S. degree in Genetics from 1993 to 1997. Jeff completed their undergraduate education at North Carolina State University, where they obtained a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from 1988 to 1992 and another B.S. degree in Pulp and Paper Technology from 1988 to 1991.

Apart from their formal degrees, Jeff has obtained several certifications. Jeff is a member of the State Bar of California, the Tennessee Bar certified by the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, and a certified member of the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
