Jesús Arroyo Torrens

Data Engineering Lead at CARTO

Jesús Arroyo Torrens has had a successful career in software engineering, beginning in 2009 with a role as Software Engineer at FLIR Systems. In 2012, they became an Embedded Software Engineer at FLIR Systems, and in 2013 they moved to BQ as an R&D Software Engineer. In 2017, they joined CARTO as a Data Engineering Lead, a role in which they were responsible for managing a group of software engineers and providing mentoring support and guidance. Jesús was also the Project Lead and developer of several projects such as Spatial Extension, CARTOframes, and Data Observatory. Theirroles at CARTO also included Back End and Front End Software Engineer, in which they were the Project Lead and developer of a Python library for data scientists, an entire web application for site planning using Vue.js and TypeScript, and JS libraries for data visualization.

Jesús Arroyo Torrens obtained a Master's degree in Automation and Robotics Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid between 2007 and 2013. Jesús also obtained two additional certifications from Coursera: Machine Learning in July 2013 and Exploring Quantum Physics in May 2013.
