Joseph LaMattina

Joseph LaMattina has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Joseph is currently the Owner of J LaMattina Consulting, LLC since January 2022. Previously, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Cellibre starting from September 2021. Prior to that, Joseph held positions at Pfizer, where they were a Principal Scientist from June 2021 to September 2021 and a Senior Scientist-Enzymologist from October 2018 to June 2021. Joseph also worked as a Scientist I-Enzymologist at Synthetic Genomics from January 2018 to August 2018. Joseph began their career as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute from September 2016 to January 2018, where they focused on determining the biosynthetic pathway of Nosiheptide and characterizing the mechanism of a class D radical SAM methylase. Joseph also had a student internship at The Coca-Cola Company from October 2007 to March 2008.

Joseph LaMattina attended the University of Central Florida from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Microbiology. Afterward, they pursued further education at the University of Georgia from 2010 to 2016, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry.
