Marquisha Johns

Marquisha Johns has extensive work experience in various roles related to public health policy and law. Marquisha is currently working as the Associate Director of Public Health Policy at the Center for American Progress since August 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Student Attorney at Georgetown University Law Center's Federal Legislation Clinic from August 2020 to December 2020. Marquisha also worked as a Summer Associate at Groom Law Group, Chartered from June 2020 to August 2020, and as a Law Clerk at the National Health Law Program from January 2020 to April 2020. Marquisha gained further experience as a Law Clerk at the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions in 2019, and as a Legal Intern at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services from May 2019 to July 2019. Marquisha's earlier work experience includes roles such as a Program Evaluation Analyst at the St. Louis Regional Commission from May 2015 to March 2017, a Graduate Student Intern at the St. Louis Regional Health Commission from May 2014 to May 2015, and a Graduate Research Assistant at Saint Louis University from August 2013 to April 2015. Additionally, they served as a Supplemental Instructor in the Department of Physics and a Student Researcher in the Department of Chemistry at Xavier University of Louisiana from January 2013 to May 2013 and from August 2011 to May 2013, respectively.

Marquisha Johns began their education in 2009 at Xavier University of Louisiana, where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology. Marquisha graduated from Xavier University in 2013. Following this, they attended Saint Louis University from 2013 to 2015, obtaining a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Policy Analysis. In 2018, Marquisha enrolled at Georgetown University Law Center to pursue a Doctor of Law - JD degree with a focus on Health Law. Marquisha completed their law degree at Georgetown University in 2021.
