Lynne Harkel-Rumford is the Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at CenterPoint Energy. Lynne has over 20 years of experience in human resources and benefits law.

Lynne began their career as an Associate | Executive Compensation, Benefits and ERISA Attorney at Baker Botts in 1990. Lynne provided legal assistance on stock compensation arrangements, individual employment agreements and executive severance agreements for publicly traded and privately held companies. In 1997, they joined Vinson & Elkins as an Associate | Executive Compensation, Benefits and ERISA Attorney. At Vinson & Elkins, they provided counsel to companies on design and compliance of pension, 401(k) and welfare benefits plans. Additionally, they regularly advised on employee benefits and compensation issues related to merger and acquisitions.

In December 1999, Lynne left Vinson & Elkins to join CenterPoint Energy as their Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. In this role, they are responsible for leading the human resources function for the company. This includes developing and executing strategies in the areas of talent management, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, and organizational development.

Lynne Harkel-Rumford earned their Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Houston and their Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University Bloomington.

They work with Jason M. Ryan - EVP, Regulatory Services & Government Affairs, Jason P. Wells - EVP & Chief Financial Officer, and Monica Karuturi - EVP & General Counsel. Lynne Harkel-Rumford reports to David J. Lesar, President & CEO.
