Iqbal Arshad

Iqbal Arshad has a diverse and extensive work experience. Iqbal currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Cerence Inc. since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Northwestern University, where they held multiple roles including Adjunct Professor, Co-founder & Advisor, and Visiting Scholar. Iqbal also served as the Founder & CEO of xcoefficient from 2017 to 2023. In addition, they were an Advisory Board Member at Layered Insight and UI LABS. Before that, they worked at Lenovo as the Senior Vice President of Mobile Products, leading the development of a product portfolio generating billions in revenue. Iqbal also held senior leadership positions at Google and Motorola, where they played a crucial role in the development and launch of various cutting-edge mobile products. Earlier in their career, they worked at WaterCove Networks and 3Com, contributing to the introduction of groundbreaking technologies in the telecommunications industry.

Iqbal Arshad has a Master in Engineering Management (MEM) degree from Northwestern University. They also hold a Master of Science in Space Systems Engineering with Honors distinction (GPA of 4.00/4.00) from The Johns Hopkins University with a concentration in spacecraft design. Additionally, they have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Miami, with a concentration in Communications & Computer Design.
