Stefan Popenici has a rich and diverse work experience in the field of education and research. Stefan held various senior lecturer roles at institutions such as Charles Darwin University, University of Melbourne, and Macquarie University. Stefan also served as a senior researcher at the Institute of Education Sciences and as a consultant for organizations like the European Commission and the World Bank. Additionally, they have contributed to projects related to ICT in education, inclusive education, and educational policies. Throughout their career, Stefan has demonstrated leadership in academic research, curriculum development, and program/course review.
Stefan Popenici holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pedagogy from the University of Bucharest (1993-1997) and a Master's degree in Educational Management, Administration, and Leadership from the same institution (1997-1998). Stefan went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Education from the University of Bucharest (1998-2001). In 2006-2007, they were a Postdoctoral fellow at Simon Fraser University, focusing on Education. Additionally, in 1998, they served as a Visiting Professor in Philosophy at The Catholic University of America.
