André Mayes

André Mayes is the current General Counsel at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. André has previously worked as a Senior Attorney at Clark Hill PLC, from January 2005 to December 2008. From January 2003 to December 2005, they were the General Counsel/Director of Operations at Dorchester County Public Schools. André Mayes began their career as a Senior Public Liability Attorney at Kmart Corporation, where they worked from January 1993 to December 2001.

André Mayes attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for their undergraduate degree and then Wake Forest University School of Law for their law degree.

They are on a team with Frank Barnes - Chief Accountability Officer, Nancy Brightwell - Chief Academic Officer, and Brian Schultz - COO. André Mayes reports to Hugh Hattabaugh, Interim Superintendent.
