Aleksander Reitsakas

Aleksander Reitsakas has over 18 years of experience in software development and engineering management. Aleksander is currently working at Checkout.com as an Engineering Manager, where they are responsible for managing two teams and overseeing the development of the core transactional ledger. Prior to this, they worked at Bigbank as a Product Engineering Manager, leading the Accounts, Backoffice, and Cards team, as well as the Banking Backoffice team. Aleksander also has experience as a Senior Software Developer at Concise and Bigbank, where they worked on B2B functionality development and financial backoffice software implementation. Before that, Aleksander worked as a Senior Software Developer at Concise Systems, Percival Software, Aktors, Profit Software Ltd, and Affecto, where they gained extensive experience in various technology stacks and project environments. Aleksander started their career at MicroLink Eesti as a Software Developer and later as a System Architect, where they worked on telecom industry projects and took on responsibilities such as project documentation, load testing, and end-user training.

Aleksander Reitsakas completed their education in the field of Informatics. Aleksander obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from the University of Tartu between the years 1997 and 2001. Afterwards, they pursued further studies and received a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from the same university from 2001 to 2003. In addition to their academic qualifications, Reitsakas also obtained certifications in different areas. In 1997, they received a Certificate in advanced english (CAE) from the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). Furthermore, in 2016, they completed a 4-day training on web application security advanced, provided by Clarified security OÜ.
