Peter Parsons

Peter Parsons has over 20 years of work experience in various roles within the technology industry. Peter is currently working as a Principal Sales Engineer at Chef Software since March 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Systems Engineer at Nutanix from July 2019 to February 2021.

Before that, Peter worked at Red Hat from April 2010 to July 2019. In their tenure at Red Hat, they served as the Manager of EMEA Inside Solution Architects from September 2018 to July 2019. Peter was responsible for coaching and developing team members, advocating for the team across the organization, and defining and developing new service offerings for customers. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Solution Architect from April 2010 to August 2018.

Peter has also gained experience at IBM as a Senior IT Specialist from April 2006 to March 2010, and at Sun Microsystems as a Solution Architect from October 2004 to March 2006. Peter also served as a Principal Technical Instructor at Sun Microsystems from February 2000 to October 2004.

Additionally, Peter has academic experience, having worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Reading from October 1997 to February 2000, and as a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Hull from October 1995 to September 1997.

Peter Parsons obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, where they studied from 1989 to 1992. Peter then pursued a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Hull, completing it from 1992 to 1995.
