Political Military Analyst at Cherokee Federal

Alec M. has extensive work experience in various roles related to political and military analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and operational environment expertise. Alec began their career as an intern at Merrill Lynch in 2006. Alec then worked as a Social Scientist in the US Army from 2008 to 2012. Alec served as a Lecturer and Subject Matter Expert at LDESP, Naval Postgraduate School, from 2007 to 2013, during which they also worked as a Research Fellow from 2007 to 2008. Alec joined IDS International as a Consultant/SME in 2013 and later became an Operational Environment (OE) SME at Visual Awareness from 2013 to 2016. Alec worked as the Deputy OE Team Lead at Cubic Corporation from 2016 to 2017. Alec then joined Dexis Consulting Group as a Monitoring and Evaluation Deputy at the Department of State in 2017. At E-9 Corporation, Alec served as the Monitoring and Evaluation Lead at the Department of State from 2017 to 2019. Alec then worked as a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist at Dexis Consulting Group for the Department of State from 2019 to 2021. Currently, Alec is employed at Cherokee Federal as a Political Military Analyst, starting in October 2021.

Alec M. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Lewis & Clark College. Alec also has a Master of Arts degree in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. In addition to their academic degrees, Alec holds several certifications, including the Political-Military Officer's Course from the U.S. Department of State, the Defense Institute of Security Cooperation from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, and the Army Basic Instructor certification from the US Army. Alec has also obtained certifications such as Human Rights Trainer from the United Nations, Staff Officers' Course from NATO, and Training Development Capability from the US Army. Furthermore, Alec has obtained various certifications in areas such as District Stability Framework from USAID, Counter Insurgency Leadership from ISAF, Afghan Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Research Management and Social Science Training from the US Army, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the Peace Corps.
