Adjoa Sankofia Tetteh Ma, Clc

Adjoa Sankofia Tetteh has a diverse work experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health education and advocacy. Adjoa Sankofia has served as a Project Director and Senior Trainer at CAI (Cicatelli Associates Inc) since 2016, where they provide technical assistance and training. Prior to that, they worked as a Family Planning Health Educator at Community Healthcare Network from 2011 to 2016. Adjoa has also been involved in advocacy work, serving as Co-Chair of the Sex Education Advocacy Committee and an activist at Planned Parenthood of New York City, Inc. from 2011 to 2017. Adjoa Sankofia has been an active member of the Sierra Club's Global Population and Environment Program National Volunteer Committee from 2005 to 2015, advocating for environmental protection and access to reproductive health care. Adjoa has also worked as a Research Assistant at the Raghavan Power & Gender Laboratory and Lindau Research Laboratory, focusing on adolescent sexual health interventions and women's health. Adjoa Sankofia has interned at Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Physicians for Reproductive Health. In addition to their professional experience, Adjoa has provided support and guidance to adolescents with emotional and behavioral difficulties as a Dormitory Counselor at the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School. Adjoa Sankofia Tetteh, MA, CLC, has a strong educational background. Adjoa Sankofia received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Development (Honors) from the University of Chicago, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Adjoa Sankofia then pursued further education at Teachers College, Columbia University, obtaining their Master of Arts degree in Health Education (Sexual and Reproductive Health Education) from 2009 to 2011.

In addition to their degrees, Adjoa has obtained two important certifications. In 2011, they became a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Adjoa Sankofia also earned the certification of Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) from The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice in January 2014. These certifications demonstrate their expertise and dedication to the field.
