Christopher Chen

Christopher Chen has over 20 years of work experience in the software engineering and operations field. Christopher began their career in 1998 as an Executive Producer at Digital Clubhouse Network, where they created digital stories using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere, and received a Presidential Award for 500+ hours of community service. Christopher was also the Executive Director of the WWII Veterans Project, whose work is now in the Smithsonian. In 2012, Christopher joined ClearCare as an Operations Team Lead, Project Manager, and Outsource Specialist, where they outsourced all data entry, lowering costs by 75%. Christopher then moved on to Gobble in 2013 as a Hiring Manager and Operations Lead, where they were responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling regular and temp drivers, as well as standardizing operation procedures for delivery preparation. In 2015, Christopher joined PayStand as a Software Engineer, where they built out an entirely new backend for their payment solution using Loopback and Node.js, and architected, designed, and developed their Custom Field API and integrated it with both their Checkout and Dashboard. In 2017, they joined PayPal as a Senior Software Engineer, where they built a data pipeline for moving billions of records from an unrestricted zone into a restricted zone using Kafka Mirroring, and led the charge in facilitating brainstorms across different orgs on the creation of a Visitor Data Platform using tracking and analytics. Christopher also delivered PayPal's first Node GraphQL service to Production. Christopher currently works at CipherTrace, a Mastercard company, as a Lead Software Engineer.

Christopher Chen began their educational journey at Homestead from 2001-2005. Christopher then attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 2005-2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics. In 2011, they obtained a Certified Personal Trainer certification from PROPTA Muscle Fitness Management. Two years later, in 2013, they obtained a Certified Nutrition Tech certification from the same institution. Finally, in 2014-2015, they attended Cabrillo College and earned an Associate's Degree in Computer Science.
