Kevin Rayes, AICP Candidate has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2007, they worked as an Oasis Pool Attendant/Server at The Phoenician Resort. In 2011, they interned at ON Semiconductor in the Sales & Marketing department, where they conducted research, created presentations, and prepared spreadsheets. Kevin then worked as a summer intern and sales associate at Mobile Tummy, a startup smartphone app for locating and ordering from local restaurants. Their responsibilities included researching restaurant characteristics, meeting with restaurant owners, performing data input and testing, and conducting phone interviews.

In 2014, Kevin served as a Project Excellence Teacher at Phoenix Country Day School, where they created curriculum, taught classes, facilitated discussion groups, and collaborated with other instructors and mentors. Kevin was also a Site Outreach Manager at Rising Sun Energy Center in 2015, working on the California Youth Energy Services Program. Their site was recognized for exceeding goals and providing excellent customer service.

From 2016 to 2018, Kevin worked at the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) as a Transportation Planner II, where they implemented the regional long-range transportation plan. In 2017, they briefly worked as a Ski Instructor at Aspen Skiing Company. Finally, since 2018, Kevin has been with the City of Aspen, starting as a Land Use Planner I and progressing to Senior Planner and currently, Principal Planner.

Throughout their career, Kevin has gained experience in transportation planning, project management, community outreach, teaching, sales, and customer service.

Kevin Rayes, AICP Candidate, holds a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from Arizona State University which they obtained from 2013 to 2015. Kevin also pursued studies in the Faculty of Spatial Sciences at the University of Groningen in 2014. Before that, they completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Government & Spanish at The University of Texas at Austin from 2010 to 2013. Alongside their education, Kevin Rayes has acquired additional certifications including AICP Candidate from the American Institute of Certified Planners and Certified Planner (AICP) Candidate from the American Planning Association in 2022. Kevin also holds a certification in Financial Planning in Transportation from the American Planning Association.
