Joanne Ward

Joanne Ward is currently the VP of Corporate Services & External Relations at City of Bristol College. Prior to that, they were with the South West Apprenticeship Company Limited (SWAC) and before that, they were with the House of Commons as a Senior Parliamentary Assistant and Office Manager.

Ward has always had a passion for education and skills, which is why they decided to pursue a career in this field. Joanne has extensive experience in Further Education, Apprenticeships and Higher Education and has used this knowledge to make a difference in the lives of young people in south Bristol.

At City of Bristol College, Ward is responsible for leading all strategic communications and stakeholder relations. Joanne has also been instrumental in strategically positioning the College as a key player in Bristol and the wider region. In addition, they advise other colleges on how to manage stakeholder and media relations during times of crisis.

Joanne Ward studied for an advanced certificate in corporate governance at The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland. Joanne then went on to study for a CIPR diploma in public relations at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Finally, they completed a BSc Hons in media & society at London South Bank University.

Their manager is Richard Harris, CEO & Acting Principal. Joanne Ward works with Pasquale Fasulo - Director, Further Education, Dale Simpkins - Director, Estates, Facilities & IT, and Cathy Bowstead - Director, Foundation Learning & Enrichment.
