Wastewater Lab Superintendent at City of Grand Rapids

Sandra Buchner is the Wastewater Lab Superintendent at City of Grand Rapids. Sandra has over 25 years of experience as a chemist, and has been with the City of Grand Rapids for the past 13 years. Prior to their current position, they were a Chemist II with the City of Grand Rapids WWTP, where they performed analysis of metals by ICP-OES, GFAA and ICP-MS. Sandra also did community outreach and education, and gave tours of the wastewater treatment plant and the demonstration rain garden. Sandra has also been an instructor with the Michigan DEQ, teaching Basic Chemistry for Water and Wastewater personnel. Sandra began their career as a Laboratory Scientist with the State of Michigan, Department of Environmental Quality, where they did pesticide & PCB analysis and Volatile Oragnics Analysis (VOA). Sandra then became a Laboratory Technician with Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr and Huber (FTC&H).

Sandra Buchner has a type of education in education from Grand Valley State University. Sandra also has a BS in biology and chemistry from Michigan State University. Sandra has a certification from the State of Michigan in Wastewater Operator Class D License.
