Julie Hurley, AICP has a diverse range of work experience in the field of planning and community development. Julie most recently served as the Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Leavenworth, Kansas since March 2019. Prior to that, they held the position of City Planner for the same city from July 2014 to March 2019.
Before their work in Leavenworth, Julie worked as a Neighborhood Planner for the City of Shawnee, KS from April 2008 to July 2014. Julie also gained experience as a Community Planner at Bucher, Willis & Ratliff Corporation from October 2006 to December 2007.
In addition, Julie served as a Current Planner for both the City of Overland Park from July 2004 to October 2006 and the City of Olathe from October 2002 to July 2004. This range of experience demonstrates their expertise in various aspects of planning and community development.
Julie Hurley, AICP holds a Master of Urban Planning degree from The University of Kansas. Julie completed their Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition, they obtained the American Institute of Certified Planners certification from the American Planning Association in July 2005.
