Tor Chavarria has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. They currently work as a Program Manager in the Arts & Cultural Affairs Department at the City of Minneapolis. Prior to this, Tor was a Community Equity Program Fellow at the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation. They also served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota College of Design. In addition, Tor held positions such as Latino Advisory Council Liaison at Mixed Blood Theatre, Box Office Supervisor at Guthrie Theater, Brand Ambassador at Solcana Fitness & Wellness, Latinx Project Manager at the Minnesota Historical Society, and Audience Services Manager at Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts.

Tor Chavarria completed their education with a Master's degree in Public Policy, specializing in Racial Equity, from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, between 2020 and 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Theatre/Theater from St. Cloud State University, from 1996 to 2009. Tor also holds an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Music, which they earned from El Paso Community College from 2000 to 2006.
